Heidi Lloce Mendoza, former Undersecretary General for Internal Oversight Services of the United Nations and Commissioner of the Philippine Commission on Audit returns to ADB to talk about her new book:  "Audit is Life", share some stories during audit but not included in the Audit Report. With a slight twist, she used those stories to reflect on life and explore some ways by which it can be audited. She used to be an employee of the Asian Development Bank until she chose to resign in order to testify on a widely celebrated case of corruption in the military. She is a Certified Public Accountant, a mother of three, a passionate good governance advocate, and a well known lecturer who write "tagalog" poems and paint during her free time. She had her first solo exhibit in 2017 at the Vienna International Convention Center. In 2003, she wrote a book titled A Guide in the Investigation of Common Procurement Fraud and Irregularities.

MANILA, Philippines—Talk that she would be blamed for a weak plunder case against former military comptroller Carlos Garcia prompted former state auditor Heidi Mendoza to speak out against the prosecutors’ decision to enter into a plea bargain deal with the retired major general.

This was according to former Ombudsman Simeon Marcelo, one of those whom Mendoza had consulted before she surfaced to tell the country that there was evidence to pin down Garcia.

Her elder sister said Mendoza’s decision to expose corruption in the military was simply living up to the final words of their father.

Si Heidi Lloce Mendoza (ipinanganak Nobyembre 3, 1962)[1][2] ay isang Pilipinong lingkod bayan at komisyoner at officer-in-charge[3][4] ng Komisyon sa Awdit ng Pilipinas. Noong Oktubre 6, 2015, ninomina si Mendoza ni UN Secretary-GeneralBan Ki-moon upang pamunuan ang United Nations Office of Internal Oversight Services na papalit sa Canadianong si Carman Lapointe.[4][5][6] Nanungkulan din si Mendoza bilang panlabas na awditor ng Food and Agriculture Organization, World Health Organization at International Labour Organization.[5][7]

Si Mendoza'y ipinangak sa Tayabas, Quezon kina Agapito Lloce, isang pulis, at Silveria Macaraan. Nag-aral siya sa Paaralang Elementarya ng Tayabas East, at nagtapos ng high school bilang salutatorian sa St. John Bosco Academy sa Tayabas. Nagtapos siya ng kolehiyo na may degri sa Accountancy mula sa Sacred Heart College sa Lucena noong 1983, at nang sumunod na taon naging isang ganap na sinerti
