Sean Ryan begins his first season with the Gamecock football program serving as an offensive analyst.

Ryan comes to Columbia after spending a number of years in the NFL, primarily as a quarterbacks coach. He mentored such standouts as Deshaun Watson in Houston, Matthew Stafford in Detroit, and Eli Manning in New York, and tutored 2014 A.P. Offensive Rookie of the Year Odell Beckham Jr.

Prior to joining the Gamecocks’ staff, Ryan served as the Carolina Panthers’ quarterbacks coach for two seasons after stints in Detroit as the quarterbacks coach (2019-20) and Houston as the wide receivers (2016) and quarterbacks (2017-18) coach. He also spent nine seasons (2007-15) in a variety of roles with the New York Giants.

During his nine seasons (2007-15) in New York, Ryan helped the Giants to victories in Super Bowl XLII (2007) and Super Bowl XLVI (2011). During that nine-year run he started in an offensive quality control role (2007-09), before stints with the wide receivers (2010-11, 2014-15) and quarterbacks (2012-13).
