Obituary of Anne Marie McCaig
It is with mournful sorrow that the family of Anne McCaig announces her passing. Anne passed at the age of 72 in the warm embrace of her daughter while in hospice at 6:00 P.M. on April 19th, 2024. She strongly fought a long and courageous battle against cancer with the support of her family. Anne passed peacefully; with angels taking her by the hand, leading her from her daughter’s arms, and taking her home to Heaven. Anne was born June 29th, 1951, in Saint John New Brunswick to the late John Joseph “Big John” and Marian Francis (McManus) McCaig.
As a woman of immense piety, faith and loyalty are the only two words fit to describe Anne’s life. She took matters of faith seriously and was unwavering in her commitment to the Lord. As a devout Catholic, Anne made it her life’s work to help those in need. This was demonstrated by her lifelong employment with Horizon Health, serving dutifully in both Centre Care and Saint Joseph’s Hospital. Annie “Anne” McCaig, beloved sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully passed away on September 3, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on August 30, 1934, Anne’s life was a testament to love, kindness, and grace.
She is survived by her devoted sisters, Angie (Gary) Watts and Ollie (Harvey) Yule; her cherished brother Ewhen; and numerous nieces and nephews. Anne is also deeply remembered by her extended Woronchak and McCaig families.
Reunited in eternal peace with her loving husband Ray; as well as her parents Barbara and Nickolas; and her siblings Walter, Isadore, and Jean. Anne’s spirit now rests among those she held dear.
A celebration of Anne’s life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the charity or organization of your choice in Anne’s honour.
Anne’s radiant spirit will continue to shine in the hearts and memories of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
