Matt Redman (born Feb. 14, 1974) is a British Christian worship leader, singer-songwriter, and author who has been a prominent figure in contemporary worship music. He was previously a worship leader associated with the Soul Survivor organization and currently works with Passion Conferences. Redman now resides in California with his wife Beth and their five children.
His music has resonated with audiences worldwide, with iconic songs like The Heart of Worship, Let Everything That Has Breath, Once Again, and the award-winning Blessed Be Your Name (Worship Song of the Year, 2005 GMA Awards). In 2006, he followed up with the album Beautiful News featuring hits like You Never Let Go and Shine.
Redman's album 10,000 Reasons (2011), co-written with friends, achieved remarkable success, reaching #66 on the Billboard 200 and nearly doubling the sales of his previous album. This accomplishment was further solidified by his two Grammy Awards for the song 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord). Matt Redman is married to Beth and they have five children. They are based on the south coast of England, near Brighton. Matt has been a full-time worship leader since the age of 20 and this journey has taken him to countries such as South Africa, Japan, India, Australia, Germany and the Czech Republic. Along the way he has sung in venues such as the Angels baseball stadium, both old and new Wembley stadiums, St Paul’s Cathedral and the Royal Albert Hall. Matt’s earlier songs include ‘The Heart of Worship’, ‘You Never Let Go’ and ‘Blessed Be Your Name’. More recent compositions include the Grammy-nominated ‘Our God‘, and the double-Grammy winning ‘10,000 Reasons‘ – for which he also received a Billboard award in the USA. His latest record was recorded live at Abbey Road Studios in London. Matt is also the author of several books, including The Unquenchable Worshipper, Facedown, Mirrorball,Blessed Be Your Name (co-authored with Beth Redman) and Indescribable (co-authored with Louie Giglio).

Redman has released 16 albums,[2] written 8 books,[3] and helped start three church-plants.[4] He is best known for his two-time Grammy Award-winning single, "10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)".[5] Co-written with Jonas Myrin, the single reached No. 1 on the US BillboardChristian Songs chart in 2012.[6]
Early life
Redman was born on 14 February 1974,[7] and raised in Watford, England. The family had moved to Chorleywood, a small commuter town, when he was around the age of two.[8] His father took his own life when Matt was seven years old,[9] and he and his brother were raised predominantly by his mother.[10] His mother later remarried into an abusive relationship that took a great toll on the family.[8] At the age of 10, he converted to Christianity after attending a mission service by Luis
