The Boondocks is an American adult animated sitcom on Cartoon Network's late-night programming block, Adult Swim. Created by Aaron McGruder, based upon McGruder's comic strip of the same name, the series premiered on November 6, 2005. The show begins with a black family, the Freemans, settling into the fictional, peaceful, and a mostly white suburb of Woodcrest. The perspective offered by this mixture of cultures, lifestyles, social classes, stereotypes, viewpoints, and racial identities provides for much of the series' satire, comedy, and conflict.

The Boondocks ended on June 23, 2014, with a total of 55 episodes over the course of the show's four seasons. The fourth and final season was produced without the same level of involvement from series creator Aaron McGruder. BIOGRAPHY

The Boondocks are a five-piece rock band from Estonia. Drawing influences from British post-punk, guitar pop and early R’n’B, The Boondocks is a multilayered and nuanced affair. Theirs is a gritty, hard hitting, guitar-oriented rock’n’roll sound with all its rough and rebellious connotations projected against the backdrop of their polished image, pop melodies, biting wit, and laid back grooves. Flirting with old-school rock’n’roll in all its diversity and richness, The Boondocks has gained attention from listeners and critics alike.

The alternative music station Raadio 2 has prized them with both The Best New Artist award (2016) and the Album of the Year award (2018). In 2017, the band was voted as the Audience Favourite at the internationally renowned music festival Tallinn Music Week. Their 4th album "Soup Can Pop Band" was released in late 2021 and brought them the Rock Album of the Year award at Estonian Music Awards in 2022.
